Petar Petrović (Serbian Cyrillic: Петар Петровић, Hungarian: Péter Petrovics, born in 1486, died in 1557) was an ethnic Serb magnate in Banat, cousin of Hungarian king John Zápolya, administrator of the Kingdom of Hungary, governor of Temes County and ban of the Banate of Lugos and Karansebes.
Petar Petrović was the one who captured the leader of peasants' revolt in the Kingdom of Hungary, György Dózsa, after Dózsa's army was defeated. After death of John Zápolya, Petar Petrović was administrator of the Kingdom of Hungary and tutor of Zápolya's son, John II Sigismund Zápolya. Petrović had large estate in Banat, around Timişoara.
